Welcome to ASNO - Asian Society for Neuro-Oncology
ASNO is organized to promote development of the field of neuro-oncology in the Asian region. The organisation has widened its coverage to become a multi-disciplinary group, by welcoming neurosurgeons, radiation oncologist, paediatric and adult oncologists, neurologists, neuropathologists, neuroradiologists, neuro-scientists, neuropsychologists, neuropsychiatrists, and allied health professionals.
The memorable first meeting of the Asian Society for Neuro-Oncology (ASNO) was held in Kumamoto, Japan, in November 2002 and was organized by brain tumour societies or neuro-oncology societies in 5 countries (Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, and Turkey) and featured 142 presentations. Right from the start, the main focus of ASNO has been on diagnosis, treatment, pathology, and biology of brain tumours. Another aim is to offer participants understandings of standard “neuro-oncology” and information concerning “what is now ongoing in the world”.
